Raising twins can be a very tiresome job, but at the end of the day you get two bundles of joy, warmth, love and happiness instead of one! 5 things you need to know about raising twins

  1. Schedule it!

Raising one kid isn’t easy; raising two kids at the same time is downright difficult! If you don’t have a schedule, if you don’t have a routine; sorry to break it to you, but you will be in a lot of trouble and probably constantly tired. So schedule things and make a routine put the babies on the same feeding and napping schedules and you will be relieved that you did!

  1. One crib is fine for the early days

As new parents, you might be buying everything in the quantity of two. While it’s okay to buy two feeders, two pairs of shoes and double Strollers for Twins, it’s okay to buy one crib for both the babies initially. This might save you some money as well. If it works out for the babies and they feel better and get used to sleeping with each other, they might share the crib up until their early childhood stages arrive.

  1. Understand their differences

While there is a possibility your twins might look the same, there is also the very obvious possibility that they won’t have the same personalities. You need to keep in mind that you are becoming the parents of not one but two unique and individual children so be sure to celebrate their individuality. Often parents make the mistake of treating both their children in the same way. The thing is that due to the differences in their personalities and their behaviors, you will have to treat both your babies differently and accordingly.

  1. The feeding problem

Nursing two infants at once can be very tricky – especially if both of them are hungry and crying at the same time. The trick is to try out different positions and find the best one that suits you as well as your babies. One way to do it is to rest one baby’s head in each one of your palms or on pillows with their legs stretched out. To get a better idea of what we’re talking about, read more. You can also take help of the U-shaped nursing pillow that’s easily available in the market.

  1. It’s okay to take the extra help

While you may be determined to become a supermom, a supermom too needs to take a break from time to time. It is important to understand that it is completely okay to ask for help from other people. So be it your husband, friends, family or hired help; it could prove to be very beneficial to have a helping hand around while raising your twins.

With all these pointers in mind, be sure to enjoy every second of being a parent of not one, but two beautiful children and to adore, love and cherish them with every inch of your being. Happy parenting!
